Winter Project Scheduled (Finish Garage)

Now that I am actually taking my time on my garage, I have decided to use the winter months to get it finished up. I plan on using a wood furnace that I picked up at an auction to keep the garage heated while I'm out there working. How many of you heat your garage with a wood furnace? I am just curious to see if a wood furnace will get my garage warm enough to work. It will accept longs 24" long and 14" thick.

Nice wood stove. I heated my house and workshop in NW Ontario for over 25 years with wood. Best heat going, especially if you have a reliable wood supply. It chokes me up to see an armload of wood going for $8.00 in campgrounds. Used to be able to order up a 9-10 cord load of 8' poplar and pine for about $60/cord. Only problem with wood these days is finding an insurance company that will cover you for indoor wood heat .... burning wood does require a little common sense.

had a problem with my insurance and had to remove a wood stove in my pole barn to be insured.
we just moved in and they complained soon as they saw the pipe coming out of the wall. had to get a little mean with them to get insured till i got the wood stove removed, we moved into the house in June, do they really think I was going to use the stove in June

I sold the wood stove and found a package heat / air unit like you see on mobile homes.

Here is the DownFlow Furnace that I just put in. I am considering removing the wood stove and using the money to insulate the heck out of the attic...
