Did you use anything on the RH side to keep the tires from falling over? After you remove some of the tires, do you have a problem with one turning sideways and falling through the 2X4 frame? Thanks.
There is actually three lengths of two by four, the tires sit in them and don't touch the actual wall. (I'll can post a picture if you'd like

)
How deep did you make it? I've been kicking around an idea like this but I am very unsure on how sturdy it will be.
If I recall measurements correctly, its 24' in front the front to the wall. (had to be that deep because of the truck tires.) Its sturdy considering its anchored to both walls and then the rods.
suggest you put something over the threaded rod to keep the wheels from getting scratched...I used foam as used on a/c lines...could use a piece of hose.
Yeah, I have been kicking around the idea of doing something like that on the rods, good call!
agree with others, some type of stopper to keep the wheels from falling over is a good idea, too.

See above
beer!
So I assume you used threaded rod and screwed it into your ceiling studs?
dan
Yup, beer is good enjoyed after one of the steps was done
The rods are in fact going into the studs, I'll probably post some pics of how I accomplished that, not that it was real hard or anything
