Wire color confusion for tray cable

Hey guys, awhile back I got several great recommendations for a wire type that I require, and tray cable tops the list. My only additional question is why does it seem to be much more readily available in a Red/Black/Blue color scheme rather than Black/White/Green?
I can find it, but not nearly as readily. Trying to make life easy on my purchasers...

FWIW- we work on vehicles that do not require inspections, or even have a “code” per se, but we strive to strictly follow the NEC, for all aspects.

Thanks!

What is it you are working on, vehicle or building? NEC doesn't apply to much that goes down the road cept for travel trailers (with some rare exceptions before any ******* bunch up).

Its probably because tray cable is typically used in 3 phase applications such as 208Y/120, which uses the color code Black Red Blue...

The NEC does not apply to vehicle wiring and I would not even use it as a basis for wiring on automobiles...

Here ar GM lighting ' trailer wiring colors:
The colors that GM typically uses for their factory trailer wiring are as follows -

Dark Green - Right Turn/Brake Lights
Yellow - Left Turn/Brake Lights
Brown - Tail Lights
White - Ground
Light Green - Backup Lights
Blue - Electric Brakes
Red/Black - 12 Volt Power

It would likely apply if it's 120AC, certainly as important there as anywhere. Does tray cable always carry a ground? Code apply to travel trailers, would apply here too.

I would be piping and using common wire. All stock stuff off the shelf.

Surface mount applications, this is exactly what we do. I’m trying to nail down a replacement for MC in unit’s where all the 120/208 is buried in the wall. Aluminum furring, urethane expanding foam insulation, and either plywood or aluminum lining.

We’ve had success with the boat cable. Meets all the requirements except price.

Automotive wiring is so crazy, they are now using a primary color and TWO tracer colors on some vehicles.
