Wire confirmation for 200 ft run

I have an approximately 200’ run from my main circuit breaker to my shop. Approximately 60’ will be through a dry crawl space. I’d like to attach the cable to the floor joists in the crawl space. From the edge of the crawl space to the shop, I’ll be burying the cable in 2” conduit. I plan to have a 90 amp service to the shop. (My home has a 400 amp service entrance so there is more than enough amperage for the shop.)

I think I mistakenly purchased the wrong wire and I can’t return it. I have 250’ of 2 AWG AL XLPE SUN RES 600V TYPE USE-2 ****. It’s a 2-2-2-4 wire.

Am I correct that I can’t run wire this in the crawl space? If so, would you use a junction box on the exterior of the home, splice with Polaris connectors, and then run 2-2-2-4 mobile home feeder wire through the crawl space?

Yeah that wire cannot be ran inside

So you would need splices on both ends

MHF requires conduit indoors. I would use SER which has an outer jacket and does not require conduit

Where did you buy the wire? Did a sales person point you to that wire and did you inform the sales person the intended use? If so you have grounds for a return.

If it has XLPE insulation there is a chance it's multi-rated. Does it also say RHH or RHW-2 on the jacket anywhere?

Could you just run the conduit in the crawlspace? (Assuming the wire is OK if inside conduit...) Then out the side wall,LB,down....

Prolly the trick is getting up and into the panel, eh?

I have to say I didnt understand some of the abbreviations .
So I researched them . Wow its easy to get lost in all of them and their meanings.
Im trying to educate myself because I too will have a long run to shop from main panel

If the wire is not rated or permitted for indoor use, running it in conduit will not change its insulation rating or remove the prohibition so this is inconsequential.

Being cross-linked polyethylene in itself has no bearing on the approved use rating.

I realize that straight USE can have XLPE insulation, but so can RHH and RHW-2. Taking a closer look costs nothing.
