Wire feed welders.

I'm still watching CL and some other sites for a great deal on a plasma cutter, and I'm also looking for a good wire welder. I have a small Lincoln, 110v wire feed, (gas optional) but thinking a nice 220v mig would be a nice addition to my 'crafting' work.

I'll, most likely, never work with anything over 1/2" steel, so it doesn't have to be anything with huge capabilities.

So, what should I be looking for, and what kind of price am I looking for?

Have you equipped your Lincoln with gas and reached its limitations?
The 140 series welders from Lincoln are very capable wire welders, and only show their weakness when going beyond 3/8" or in long-duration welding that exceeds their duty cycle.
I have one, and it is awesome for anything 5/16" of thinner, all the way down to sheet metal.
I do want a larger unit, probably a Miller 251 or 252 with spool gun, for heavier welding and aluminum work, but will keep my Lincoln 140 for small stuff.

Im with Steevo here, I have a Miller 250X, and rarely use it, nice to have when you need it, but I use my Lincoln 110V welder 95% of the time.

The MILLER 211 might work without spending big bucks. Cost around $ 1075.00 depending on supplier. It is in MILLER'S current rebate program too. If the 211 is short on amps and duty cycle, go right to the MILLER 252. Skip the 212 completely. Here's the site from a local supplier.

If you don't want to, or can't run 220 than the Lincoln 140 is a good choice. I've had a Lincoln 140 for a few years and a Lincoln 100 before that. I have the 140 loaded with .030 and the 100 with .023 so I don't have to swap wire in the 140. The 140 is a decent machine for the hobbyist and garage fabricator.

I have a Lincoln 180 @220v with gas.
There hasn't been anything that I have not been able to handle with it yet after 5 years.
