The bare copper IS the ground. It needs to be attached to the outlet ground screw. Are you using a metal outlet box? Then you'll need to wrap the ground wire around the ground screw on the box and terminate it on the outlet ground screw. If using plastic, terminate on the outlet ground screw.

Ahh, that's what I thought, I'll fix that tomorrow. It's a metal box with a plastic cover.

This ground and neutral bus thing is confusing, they both perform the same function as I understand it. Just redundant for safety is what I read somewhere.

I can't find a ground screw "terminal", could I tie it in where the white wire is?

Owen the green screw that you have your white neutral tied into now is where the bare ground wire goes that outlet isnt set up for a neutral wire .

All fixed up and the house is still standing. I did some higher amp welding today and it was great!
