I would like to add a 60amp sub panel for my air compressor (31amp) and a Furnace (15amp?). Is it possible to run this in 1inch EMT? What wire size would be required 6ga?

The reason I ask is I have the EMT all ready there. Just need to run wire about 20 feet.

Yes, #6THHN/THWN is good for a 60A feeder.
Three #6 and one #10 will fit fine in 1" EMT.

That's exactly what I did. There is the thought that maybe I should have run heavier wire cus of the distance but I would size the breaker for the larger wire, than one could still worry about voltage drop at maximum load. Plus I got a bargain on #6 from a craigslist seller.
