i seen that bluepoint PWC6 makes a set as well. but i have never used them. a member here is selling a set and i would rather help a member out if i can.

are the bluepoints just as good or should i stick with the Klein??

have you looked at bluepoint PWC-27

i have a set and they're great, however you cant go wrong with either klein or bluepoint in the normal style of stripper, its down to what feels better in your hand :)

i have been using Klein 1011 for 10 years without any problems.

10 years is a long time to be using strippers that **** like that.

We only live 100 years, why spend 1/10th of your life using lousy strippers?

Allow me to recommend some superior strippers:

1. Klein 11055
2. Craftsman 73573*
3. Williams 23533*
4. Williams 23503

*Exact same strippers made by Stride-Imperial USA

The Klein 11055 are slightly more comfortable than the Craftsman
73573, but the Craftsman 73573 are more precise at stripping wire.

****?? Why would something I have used for 10years without problem ****?? Might want to ask yourself that.

I also have Klein 11055 I bought at the same time. I think in 10 years I only used them 2 times. I do not prefer them. They feel awkward in the hand.

Maybe you didn't know any better; that's why we're here to keep you well informed.

I find it very surprising you think the Klein 11055 feel awkward; they fit my hand perfectly.

If you do a lot of wiring, I suggest ditching wire strippers and learn to use a 6" diagonal-cutting plier to strip all of your stranded or romex wires.

I used to install car alarm for about 5yrs and a sharp diag cutting plier is very efficient to strip wires from 24g to 10g

I love Klein tools but I just used the HF strippers on sale for $3.99 with coupon and they are the best I've ever had. (I don't have Klein or Knipex in a stripper, but some really old Klein linesmans and diagonal cutter that are great). For those that don't use them often, these are really good for the $3.99 but always check quality on your particular set your are going to buy with HF. - Paul

i would go klein or ideal; look at their catalogs; they both have a few different styles of handle and what size wire they'll handle. me, i use a klein 11045 or a klein 1001 or an ideal T-stripper for typical solid wire like you'd see in residential wiring; i have a klein kurve 11057 for precision applications (electronics/telecom); an ideal reflex NM stripper for romex outer jackets; and a klein kurve 63020 or ideal data T-cutter for outer jackets of rounded computer or communication cable. treat them right (no cutting steel cable) and they'll never let you down.

I have the Klein 11055 that others are talking about and I love mine. I used to do a lot of electrical and low voltage work and Klein is pretty much the standard. With any wire stripper the key is knowing when to throw them away. New ones are nice and sharp. Older, well used ones aren't as sharp and harder to use. I've gone through several pairs of wire strippers in my career and prefer the kliens.

Ideal T-stripper for typical solid wire like you'd see in residential wiring;

I like the Ideal T-strippers. Good quality, reasonable price. Size T5 and T6 cover about 90% of what your are going to run into. For use on stranded wire, you need to move up to the next larger gauge. So 10 gauge stranded need a 8 gauge notch which is on the T8 stripper. T7 covers 24-32 gauge.

I've got the Craftsman Pros that CWP posted up there. They're Stride-Imperial. I'm happy with them for the one year of use I put on them. In fact, I've never met any kind of Stride-Imperial pliers that I wasn't happy with. I'm fairly sure that they also make the Blue-Point you're looking at (different model, though).

I just added the Cman Pros to my cart and they gave a $5 bonus in SYWR points back, so you can get them for $10.

I've also heard a lot of people say that the Harbor Freight 98410 is just as good, but I haven't used them. They're going to be on sale for $3 from 1/10 to 1/12. I'll probably grab a pair with a 25% off coupon for the toolbox in the car.

Depending on technique new strippers will nick conductors though....

stripping outer jackets, i find that sometimes it's the opposite; you want a nice sharp blade otherwise you compensate for the dull blade by using more pressure and risk nicking the insulation on the internal conductors even more. i try real hard to keep everything in tip top shape and i cycle out stuff that gets dull pretty quickly. with wire stripping, there's always a little finesse to it.

I install remote starters and do wiring daily. If you are stripping a lot of wire get these.

I used the Kleins you listed above and got these 14 years ago and never looked back. Way easier on your hands and makes a clean strip every time. There are cheap knock offs out there and they ****. These and the ones rebadged by Matco, Cornwell and others are the only ons that work well. Easy way to tell is these have metal on one of the grip handles the cheap knock offs are all plastic.

Not that it really matters, but I am pretty sure that we have discussed here before that the Kleins shown above are no longer made by Stride. Look at the pictures closely and you can spot 3 or 4 obvious differences. The older Kleins used to match the Craftsmans identical.

He said the Williams are the same as the CMans, not the Kleins.

Hell, I never even knew Klein rebadged Stride at some point, lol.

Klein is top quality stuff. I have many screwdrivers, strippers, wire cutters....the list goes on that have lasted many years of use.
Beware though...some of the stuff (like screwdrivers) has gone to taiwan. Not for me.
I don't know if the Bluepoint is worth spending the extra cash on.

Stick with the Klein.
