Wire tie wiring bundle question

I was talking to an electrician today and he told me that the new electrical code allows for using nylon wire ties to connect a bundle of Romex to a Romex cable that is stapled to the 2x4 inside of the wall, instead of having to staple each wire. He also mentioned that there was a "standard" for the type of wire tie and that the wire tie had to have a UL label printed on it. Just wondering if this has been adopted, or just proposed, or if he is misinformed.

This is a perfectly acceptable way, especially for larger sizes where staples don't fit.
T&B Ty-wraps are UL listed.

Doesnt have to be UL listed. That would be a conflict of interest. Just needs to be listed by an NRTL. UL is one NRTL out of many…
