The small ones fit in pringle cans.

You can also make a storage unit on a shelf using PVC pipe of different lengths that are flush in the front and have pipe plugs sealing the back of the pipe. The size will depend on how many you have to store.

I have some longer ones 5-8" in Snasauges (dog treats) containers, about the same as tennis balls come in. The shorter ones, I have in small plastic coffee cans.

I bought an assortment in a big clear plastic container of them years ago. I just refill the container now and then. A clear container helps when you need that short black zip-tie in the bottom.

I have a Plano tackle box for electrical work. It has all my crimpers, one tray of 14-18 terminals, one tray of 12-10 terminals and a couple misc, one tray of 20-24 terminals, and the last tray is common wire tie sizes.

The bulk though are bundled and in a clear storage container. I have another "mini" version for data/etc which has RJ45/RJ11 in one, F connectors in another, and wall plate (On-Q) jacks in a third.

I like the plastic tube type container (Jar). Seems like it takes up the least amount of space and can be stored vertically like a spray paint can.

I just leave them in the bags that came with them. I cut a small (about an inch) hole at the top of the bag to dispense them.

Even better to improve on this suggestion: cut a slit in the middle of the bag. You can still reach in and get one, but they won't fall out the end on their own.

About as cheap and easy as can be. Cut off any length of 1.5" diameter PVC at a 45 degree angle. Drill a hole for a screw at the bottom, and screw to a board. Add as many to the board as you wish. (start at the top and work down - ask me how I know this!)

Would work with other sizes of pipe as well.

The one pictured was kind of a "proof of concept" It's not fastened to the wall / pegboard very well, just hanging on a hook.

Great idea! I'll try that on the next bag. Thanks!

I picked up this set @ Walmart a couple of years ago (dirt cheap). The back one is for zip ties. I've got 12's, 10's, 8's and 4's in it. I don't know that it would hold much longer than the 12's though.

I hot glued 7 or 8 scrap pieces of PVC of varing length to a small square piece of 3/4" plywood. You could use another piece of ply and make an ell that could be mounted on a wall.

Years ago I bought a bunch of heavy duty (4 mil) zip lock bags. Mostly small ones for electronic parts. (Of course my kids pointed out that they made me look like a drug dealer !) The medium sized ones will hold small zip ties.

A few years ago I started putting together a tool box to take on vacation and while boating. I was paranoid about rust, so I found a place that sold the same kind of 4 mil zip lock bags but in 12x4" and 18x6" size. They hold medium zip ties well.

They also will hold a full set of combination wrenches or a full set of standard and tall 3/8 sockets with ratchet and extensions.

Slightly off this topic.

Has any one seen a special type of zip tie that is designed to be used to clamp rubber and vinyl hoses ? It forms a complete circle when cinched down. I heard some outboard manufacturer (Evinrude ?) uses them and they are just as good as worm gear clamps for most applications (obviously not high pressure).

I would sure like to get some to use on small engine fuel hose (typically vacuum).

They call them snapper clamps. Any marine place should have them. Probably cheaper to get online. Anything with marine in the name goes for double price.

I have seen those, but not really what I was thinking of. But the did lead me to the right place

HellermannTyton Clamp Tie

The clamp tie has triangular shaped tabs extending beneath the head, allowing for optimal surface contact and complete circumfrential compression to 360 degrees.

The clamps are recommended for soft rubber hose applications including fuel, water, and air vacuum lines.

I have a small drawer that is dedicated to them. They are all loose in the drawer. I reach in and pick out what I need. Kinda like a big zip tie party going on in there. I think they multiply, because I never seem to run out.

Take a tie or two and tie them in a bundle, pull pull one out as needed.

Same here, I've had other boxes and things I've tried to organize them in to carry on the job but after a while still come back to this one. Take a couple out and pull the middle tie tighter as it gets slimmer. Works great and holds together well on the go without spilling out everywhere if you drop them or just throw them in your bag.
