Hello, I have a Senville Aura 24k BTU mini split heat pump being delivered for my garage tomorrow that requires a 30 amp 240v breaker and 10/2 wire. I just picked up a 60 amp non fusible disconnect box and I have to run a new line from the breaker to the box.

Can I just run Southwire 10/2 Romex nm-b wire for this, or do I need outdoor rated wire since this will go to the disconnect box outside? I am planning to just run the wire up from the panel into the attic and then drill down at the condenser location and run it down the wall and out right outside directly into the back of the disconnect box.

If I need outdoor wire, what type should I be getting, and do I use the outdoor wire for the entire run from the breaker panel? I just want to make sure I'm using the proper wire that would be required so I don't have any issues in the future.

Thanks!

NM-b is fine into the disconnect box. Afterall, think about all the exterior meter mains with NM-b running into them.

From the disconnect box to the condensor, you will need outdoor wire.

Yeah I figured as much since it's technically all concealed. I purchased an electrical whip which says thwn thhn wire from the disconnect to the condenser. Appreciate everyone clarifying for me

I have 100' of Southwire 10/2 coming for $75 shipped (with tax) from ebay instead of $121+tax at the box stores. Pretty big difference in price!
