hey guys and gals, i am looking to install led deck stair lights, but i would like to control them from my phone, with some kind of app. i also want to be able to dim them. we were at a friends place over the weekend, and sitting across from the deck stairs, the lights were shining in my eyes. so im looking to try control them all from my phone. so far im thinking of a caseta dimmer, feeding a meanwell 200 watt transformer, then out to my deck lights. i am not an expert on transformers, so im not sure if this power supply can be dimmed by line voltage.
is there any other ideas that would work for me? i could put them on a photocell and a timer and all that, but i dont need them on when im not out in the yard. and i dont think i have the memory to remeber to turn the switch off or on when we are out there or not :lol_hitti
thanks
clarence

It's funny you mentioned how bright they can be

I recently installed about 150' of LED String Lights in our backyard, using an existing electrical circuit. There was no way to really control them from the house, so since I have a fairly decent Z-Wave system I bought a dimmer that I installed in a junction box and then hardwired the plugin type string of lights directly to it. Now we can turn them on/off or dim by using a computer, cell phone, or even voice commands. Alexa - turn on the landing lights :)

Z Wave be more than what you want to get into, but I have a simple schedule that automatically turns them on 30 minutes after dusk and they run at 20% before turning off at 11 PM
