Wireless door chime/alarm recommendations?

Hello folks,

Looking for a simple home setup to monitor about 4 doors and 2 windows. I've installed a wired Honeywell system before, but that house was prewired on all the doors and windows. This one is not, and I'm not exactly going to start tearing out all the drywall...

Looking for a wireless, self-contained system that doesn't run through your internet modem. While the chime is absolutely required, an alarm function from a central keypad would be nice as well. The overall purpose is to know when one of those doors or windows has opened; it's not exactly there to stop anyone or call the cops or anything.

Cruising through Amazon there's a slew of generic brands out there now selling all the same stuff; I was looking to see if anyone on here had any real hands-on experience or feedback.

Thanks,

I had a wired system installed in our new home but somebody put a nail through the wire and it never worked. Bought a wireless system that worked for less than a year. Replaced that with another wireless system that also worked less than a year. Got tired of installing **** and put a small note on the door saying "please knock". The dogs do a better job of announcing guests or intruders as any system.

Point is.......do your research before buying any system as most of them are ****, IMO.

Deleted comment. Thought you were looking for a wireless camera system.

I highly recommend Honeywell Lyric. Wireless and cellular comms are just some of the benefits. It's completely z-wave compatible and can connect with things like thermostats, temp sensors, etc. I also went with the self monitoring route. There is a monthly fee for some of the features like arm, disarm remotely through the app but no contract. You can build out the system as simple or complex as you want it and everything is wireless.
I just sold my house and left the system with the house but will buy another system for the new house, if I can ever find one.
Go to alarmgrid.com and look around. They are very helpful.
