I wasn't sure where to locate this thread (so I put it in two places, Admin feel free to delete from one or the other as you deem necessary), it will be used as a tool for keeping my garage secure; however, in the strictest sense it would most likely be considered an electronic gadget by most... :dunno: This got me thinking, perhaps a new forum for shop security could be considered, especially when taking into account the current economic problems facing our country and sky rocketing crime rates...just a random thought.

I'm looking at purchasing (one or two) exterior wireless/IP security camera(s) and was curious about a couple of things.

The area I want to view/record is currently illuminated with two separate motion activated security flood lamps (300W each set) and am curious if those security lights will negate and/or white/bleach out the cameras IR night function? If it will only force the camera into B&W mode (as most do at night), that's fine with me, color viewing isn't that important to me.

I'm looking at using something relatively reliable and simple such as this:
http://www.e-foscam.com/foscam-fi890...FUOo4AodeAvzSQ

Does anyone have experience with either the Foscam product line or wireless/IP outdoor cameras in general? If so, I'd like to hear your comments on their performance.

JMHO, but wireless security cameras wouldn't be where I'd spend my money unless there was a way to use them to direct and control a smart bomb or at least a 12-gauge.

This will be an additional layer, augmenting the several layers already in place.
