Ive gotten the furnace installed in the Toy Box and now I need to think about the 'stat... Is there such a thing as a wireless thermostat? I'm thinking a receiver mounted/wired close to the gas valve and a wireless thermometer/transmitter that tells the receiver when to call for heat/cool? Anybody got anything like that? Thanks!!!

Yep, I have the wireless Honeywell..... works great. Takes 24V power from the furnace, but the control is digital. Since my thermostat is right under a light, I also have the optional remote wireless sensing station.
No problems.

We had wireless thermostats in computer rooms on my last job. They work great as long as the battery works, but like anything using a battery, they will never be very reliable. Expect some big failure someday when the battery dies.

The currant Honeywells have a sensor designed to be mounted in the return duct, if the battery dies the sensor takes over and maintains heat and cooling between a set range, heat on at 60 degrees and cooling on over 85 degrees IIRC. This way if the battery dies while you are away you won't return to a frozen house.

Honeywell also makes a tstat thats connected to the internet and furnace wirelessly and can be controlled with a smartphone app and will text or email you if there's ever a problem. Pricey but has a ton of features.

We had the A/C in the server room on a wireless thermostat. It decided to die around 10pm on New Year's Eve. It called and the guy didn't have his phone on because he was out of town celebrating New Year's Eve. The server room overheated and damaged some of the servers.
Nothing wireless will ever match wired for reliability. I avoid anything that uses a battery if I can find another item to do the same job without the battery.
True, can't match in reliability but the failure was the guy not paying attention to his phone not the thermostat. We set the ones we sell to call the homeowner and us, just for such a situation. A number of digital thermostats even though a wired connection still depend on batteries.

Those are the ones to avoid. I have a digital thermostat in my house. It is wired and powered from the boiler. There is no battery to go dead.
