I have a metal pole building with interior walls finished with metal panels and I am trying to wire a plug socket for my tig welder. The wire for the socket is on a direct 50 amp to the box. My question is do I need any special grounding because of the metal building or should I treat it as a stick building?

Grounding is the same no matter the building type. The only thing that really changes with buildings is wire protection, ie NM through a steel stud must have a bushing for protection.

Maybe, depending on the machine, some of the high frequency machines manuals will tell you to ground the table and any metal surrounding including the structure due to high frequency interference.

But that's all depending on what you're welding, and environment, sorcery, etc.

http://www.millerwelds.com/om/o363ar_mil.pdf - Page 64 for example.
