I like how you guys have the oil drain too. I plan on doing that when I change the oil. Will make it easier.
It make oil changes much easier. Use an old toothbrush to clean the sight glass when you do oil changes. A flashlight helps to see the oil level too.

Update because I loathe when people ask questions, get some answers and never report back what they did...

Anyway, I ended up doing what I set out to do. 220v auto drain connected to the starter. I bought the 220v Moisture Minder from Suburban Manufacturing. I connected the wire leads to the load side of the contactor. This way it only purges water when the compressor is running. I have it set to come on every 30 seconds for a 3 second burst. Since it only comes on when the compressor is running, it will cycle 3 times during that run time. Here are a few pictures of the testing mode and how I mounted it. I might change the mount slightly, but so far I like how it is running. I also need to change the drain port location once I finish plumbing the rest of my system...

I would do this with a solenoid valve and a cheap PLC. Then you can adjust your timers and such as needed. Would be a good project to learn about plc programming.

Dam..... Three times a day is OVERKILL, three times per run cycle is a waste of air!

Agreed.

I doubt a 3 second burst of air 3 times is a waste of air to keep my tank dry. I don't use the compressor every day either. I also live in a high humidity area and it is HOT here in south GA... Next time I use the compressor, I will take a picture of what comes out when I use it. I like how it is set...that's the only thing I care about.

I personally think a three second burst during every cycle charge is nothing. My system has zero leaks. I leave my air compressor charged 24-7. I have mine set up on a Vfd that if it ever runs for more than 10 minutes it goes into a stop mode, just in case that silly airline breaks for some reason. My air compressor charges from 0 to 155 psi in seven minutes. With my programming I’ve only ever had one problem when I set it to low speed recovery while I am grinding.

I have a pre-chiller that takes moisture out of the air with a float bleeder. I manually bleed my tank in high moisture months. I very rarely get more than a quarter cup once a month, with 10 to 20 runs a day on a 80 gallon tank and 40 gallon reserve.
