Wiring an Emerson Motor

I got a fan from a dog kennel and I'd like to wire it up. It's an Emerson model number KA55HXSMT-2345 115v 3.9A motor, single phase. The cap is already wired with the 2 brown leads going to the opposite sides of it. There's a heavy white wire with an eyelet on it the looks like it grounded to the squirrel cage housing, a small green wire coming from the motor housing that seems to go the same spot as the white wire. Then I have 3 more heavy wires, a red, black, and a blue. I'm guessing this is a 3 speed motor. I have a heavy gauge cord I cut off of something I'd like to use. I want to use this as a shop fan, because if I can get it going, the price will be right. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

Green is ground. White is Neutral. Black is high, Blue is medium, Red is low. Do not energize more than one speed at the same time.

Got it. Thanks guys. My biggest problem is I need to quit thinking DC current, and think AC. I'm about to fire it up and I'll let you know how it turns out.

If you want to use all three speeds, just get a three circuit selector switch of some kind that's rated for motor use. Common goes to your L1 on the cord and T1, T2 & T3 go to Blk, Blu & Red.

A three speed ceiling fan switch will work to individually energize the three motor speed but make sure it's rated to carry the current. I had one that was at the limit controlling a 3/4hp furnace blower and it finally let the smoke out. I wired it for Hi and we have success. I'll see if my old man comes across any 3 spd switches. Thanks for your help.
