Question on wiring behind knee walls. Can you staple to the backside of the 2x4 rather than drill through? I will be insulating under the roof decking so no insulation interference. This will not be an easily accessible area.

I personally don’t drill truss members or glulams.
I just wired some attic trusses like that, but these were insulated on the vertical so I stapled the romex to the bottom chord near the node so the wire would not interfere with the vertical batts but be protected in the blow-in and under a walk board.

Good point on not drilling the truss. I’ve been very careful not to drill any trusses it anywhere up until this point. I spaced on the fact that that is part of the truss assembly.
Thanks

I wouldn't drill the trusses. If you're worried about wire support/protection, you could nail a piece of 1x3 strapping to the truss then staple the Romex to that.

New construction guy here - we staple just like you did and DO NOT drill any truss.
