Wiring condor pressure switch and magnetic starter

Hi All,

Thanks in advance for any help!

I have been building my detached garage for a year now and am finally wiring equipment. I have searched the net extensively about how to hook up a pressure switch through a magnetic starter and have found a wealth of information but am still confused.

Here is what I have:

RPC to 3 phase distribution panel.

30 Amp 3 phase breaker to 30 Amp 3 phase disconnect switch.

Disconnect to 10HP 3 Phase Square D motor starter with 10HP heaters and 208-240v coil.

Starter to 10HP 3 phase compressor motor.


I am confused at how to wire in 3 phase 30 amp condor pressure switch into the motor starter. The switch has 3 line inputs and 3 load outputs.

Pretty easy....you don't have to use all of the switches on the pressure switch....just one set. Normally, when someone uses one of those 3ph pres switches, they don't use a starter too....with a starter, you just need a single pole pres switch.

Wire your 3 ph from the disconnect to the starter.....

Take one of the 3ph legs...wire a jumper from that leg to one side of the pressure switch.....then from the other terminal of the pressure switch, wire that to one side of the coil on the starter. Then wire the other side of the coil to one of your other 3ph legs....doesn't matter which one....

I don't see a fuse....you to do it right, you also need to put a fuse in series with the phase legs to the pressure switch/coil.
