Hello, I would like to wire a DC motor for a fishing rod wrapper. I’m going to need a converter, and a speed controller, with reverse capability, and a switch to run either off a foot pedal or continuously off the speed controller.
The motor I’m looking at will draw no more than one amp and 25 W. However I would like to overbuild it slightly to accommodate a larger motor in the future if I decide to change.

There does not appear to be a one-stop solution for this available. Anyone know of anybody that has done this, or wiring diagrams on the Internet? Thanks

I have found Automation Direct a very helpful supplier, but have not needed them for more than 20 years.

You could probably use an old fashioned sewing machine motor with a foot pedal. Only thing I am not sure of is whether they can be reversed.
Sewing machines can definitely be reversed. It's a pretty important part of the process

Yes but as far as I know it is all done mechanically in the machine. Not with the motor. At least thats how all of the 5 or 6 that my Wife has are made.
You're right, my bad. I believe some are electronic. Could have sworn my mother had one with a 2 way pedal
