I need to wire a heater and have a few questions.
1) does 240 volt heater need to be hardwired for use in a residential setting? I will be using it in my detached shop.
2) The specs on the unit say 240 volts, 6000 watts and 25 amps using 1 phase producing 20,472 BTUs. Since this is over 80% of a 30 amp circuit, do I need to run a 50 amp circuit for this unit?
3) are there 50 amp plugs if I am able to plug the unit in instead of hard wire it?

THANKS This site has given me LOTS of good information and has made me spend LOTS of money on things I did not realize that i NEEDED!
