Wiring for lift

I am in the process of wiring my new shop. All 110v outlets are 4 ft apart and 48" from the floor all the way around the building :shocking: - probably overkill, but I'd rather have too many than not enough. I will probably place six or so 220v outlets (should I do more?) strategically around the building. Which brings me to the question of where to place the outlet for a future lift - i.e. do I wire the outlet on the ceiling, down near the floor, or at the same height as my 100v outlets? I have not done the research on lifts yet and don't know how/where they receive power. BTW, I will be getting a 2 post lift if it makes a difference.

TIA

Thanks - ceiling it is. I have a 15ft ceiling, but I suppose I could make a pigtail if needed.

It wasn't mentioned, but I would suggest using a twistlock receptacle and plug. You don't want the cord coming out and landing on your car.
