Wiring for my Mohawk System 1A

Hoping someone can help... according to my manual my Mohawk System 1A requires a 230V 20A circuit.

Am I correct in that the wire I use is a 12/3 w/ground to the box where I connect the unit? Obviously a 2 pole 20A breaker... I think anyway.

Almost correct, all you need is 12/2 with ground, if you have 12/3 that would work also, the white won't get connected. Using 12/2, tape the white black to reidentify it as a hot.

I'm not sure my electrical inspector will allow it... one of those things you hate to ask him, maybe better go with 12-3.
