Wiring For Relocated Garage Outlet

I'm in the process of remodeling my garage and its wiring. Prior to this I had a metal outlet (one that you would see for conduit) and it laid right on the wood stud. I'm insulating and putting OSB up in the garage so I had to buy blue wire gang box so that my OSB could sit flush with the outlet cover. When I re-rout the wires now into the top of the gang box, there is about 1-1/2" of exposed wiring , no insulation present feeding into the outlet box just before it enters in. This is because of the relocated outlet cover. Is this 1-1/2" of exposed wiring a problem?

The outer jacket of the Non Metallic cable needs to continue to inside the box, by a quarter inch or so at least. It the jacket is too short, you need to pull, reroute, replace, do whatever you need to, to get the jacket of the NM to reach the clamp in the box.

Can you move the box further up so you do have enough insulation?

Can you mount another receptacle up higher so your wire will reach, and it could then feed your existing one down lower? Any junction box used to splice wires, must be accessible, even if just a cover plate.
