this is a 2 lamp fixture I am changing over. Got the diagram from the web site. Just want to make sure I got this right, almost looks like it would short out the ballast.
So on the one end, all 4 lamp holder wires get twisted together, and go to the red wire, on the other end, one lamp holder's 2 wires get twisted together, and goes to one of the blue wires, and the other lamp holder's 2 wires get twisted together, and goes to the other blue wire?
It is this ballast.

The wiring diagram should be printed on the ballast and should be the same as the diagram you posted.

Edit: Your interpretation of the diagram is correct.

While I am waiting for the ballast to get mailed here, l got one of the cheapie Lights 0f America fixtures from Walmart. I put it over my wood lathe. It don't seem too bad, I just hope it holds up. I guess Walmart will only replace it after 90 days. It would probably cost $10.00 to ship back to the company.
T8 bulbs; I got the 2 for $6.00 something, GE, 48" Utility, 2500 Lumens, Color Appearance 4100K,
It don't look too bad, but I wouldn't mind something a little brighter for the other fixture.
What are most of you guys using as far as bulbs?

Some T12's are exempt from the phase out. Also T12 electronic replacement ballast are being made to replace the phased out magnetic T12 ballast. So T12 is not totally dead and gone.

I've got a couple of the T8 Lights of America fixtures from Wal-Mart. They are not the best lights. I have problems with them randomly flickering. I had one unit that was so bad I took it back for an exchange and the new one does the same but not nearly as bad. Since they are in my wife's garden shed I don't worry too much about it. I know... that's not nice.

I just thought of something, This Instant start uses the same T8 lamps as the rapid start right?
Although I do understand bulbs may not last as long with an instant start ballast.

Looks like it according to this picture.
