When wiring metal outlet boxes with romex, does each wire need to have it's own clamp coming into the box or is it ok to put them both in 1 clamp?

Depends on the clamp. Some clamps are specifically approved by the manufacturer for two runs of Romex thru them. If you do not have positive proof of that for the ones you have, you should only put one run of Romex thru them however.

So if you have a load center and you are bringing all your home runs into the enclosure, you need a clamp for each wire? (as opposed to several wires neatly routed thru one clamp)

It depends entirely on the clamp and the clamp's rating. Obviously it would not be practical to allow only one wire per clamp at a load center. However, if you put two wires in a clamp rated for one that is also not correct.

most 3/8 clamps are listed for two 12/2 cables. It should state the combinations on the bag of nm clamps. I usually put 2 through each one.

I am surprised that no one recommended just pulling the existing new work boxes out and replacing them with old work boxes. I would think that's a much better fix than ripping out drywall and patching it afterwards as some have recommended.

Did you reply to the right thread?

Also, I have been successful 1 out of 100 times in getting a new work box out of the wall with out more sheet rock damage, and it takes 10 times longer than just patching.

metal poles used for the first time in the bathroom remodel. outlet boxes secured with 2 screws in the leg before the metal rod. I thought the strength to hold the pack would come after the stone is in place.
