Most cities or towns require you to have an emergency shut off switch. I mounted mine right by the side door. When I am done in the garage and the heater has cycled down I just flip the switch to off, then when I return to the garage again I just flip the switch on. The furnace fan comes on and in a few seconds the sparky starts the furnace and I have heat. Makes it real easy to use the furnace.

I just ordered a 75,000 from Amazon which was a damaged box special. They say all parts and everything is still under warranty, plus I have a no question return. Should be here today or tomorrow. I know what thread to go to if I have problems:thumbup:

Hi - I'm new to the forum and I have a couple questions. I am currently installing the 75000 btu version of this heater. I have never done a project like this before.

My first question is not wiring related: My exhaust pipe is going to be about 4 feet long with a little over a foot outside my house. My question is - is it safe to paint the portion of the pipe that extends outside the house? Of course I would prime it but I would like to paint it to match the house. It wouldn't be heat resistant paint, just regular latex house paint.

My second question is where do I connect the ground wire? Can I connect it to any of the metal parts? The pos and neg connections are obviously marked but there is no obvious ground connection.

Thanks in advance.

Josh I wouldnt paint the vent pipe . The ground wire if there isnt a green colored screw ( I dont know havent done one of these units ) then simply put it under a screw near where the electric comes into the unit .

I have this heater and I did paint the pipe outside the building. I think it was a high temp grey paint I used. It seemed to work alright, although it is starting to flake off in recent years.

If your using B vent pipe you could probably get away with painting it. I wouldn't though paint the terminator.
