I've finally got my Norther Tool heater mounted on the ceiling and just need to finish wiring it up in my attached garage. My question pertains about the heater outlet and the penetration through the ceiling. Do I have do anything special to make sure it meets general code requirements?

It's a Pro-Fusion electric model. The same or very similar to this model:

I've already purchased the proper breaker and wiring, I'm mainly just concerned about keeping the fire code requirements with the ceiling outlet and attached garage intact.

An electrical outlet is allowed in a firewall. You need to make sure the box is flush with the wall surface and sealed with fire rated foam or caulk.
Awesome. Thank you! I was concerned that I would have to get a special outlet, cover or even frame the outlet in with drywall. Any particular foam or caulk you recommend?

I just picked up the 17000 btu version. Did you hard wire it or wire it with a cord and plug so you can unplug it? Do you have pictures of your final setup?

I needed a disconnect switch, emergency shut off switch and it had to be hard wired. If the wire was exposed it had to be "bx" cable. I also had to run a ground wire from my steel supply line to my panel.
