Wiring question

Hello All,

I have my garage shell up and I am about to start wiring. I plan on putting the standard vinyl siding on the garage. My questing is how do I install the light and receptacle boxes for the exterior of the garage in preparation for vinyl siding. Do I just install the boxes so they are flush with the outer surface of the OSB sheeting? Or do I have to have them installed so they stick out farther?

Thanks,

Wayner

Neither. For new construction I would use recessed flush mount receptacle boxes. For fixtures, flush mount regular electrical boxes on the sheathing and use a vinyl siding mounting block.

You can discover a lot of info and ideas by just walking the isles of HD or Lowes, just looking at stuff. Good luck and keep them questions coming!
