Working on my 40 year old detached garage and need to do some rewiring. Existing NM wiring is all routed along the top plate and below the trusses. Most if not all will need to come out regardless.
1. Is there any way of running NM through an attic (trusses) that is not acceptable? As in, could me mounted on underside of top chord, laid across the top of the bottom chord, etc.
2. Assuming I am running NM to a metal box (figure a 4" square), is there any problem with running the romex straight into the receptacle (with a wire to the ground screw)?
