Wiring Switch Question

I have 4 single pole switches in a 4 guange box. All neutrals are wire nutted together, all grounded and all 4 switches are pig taled off the same power. My problem is that the power is stopped at the first switch where the power comes in. Everything works good when the first switch is on but if swith 1 is off all is off.

I know this got to be a dumb fix.

Thanks for your time

Shane

If all four switches are each fed off of a pigtail from the power source, this cannot be working as you describe. It sounds like the power actually passes thru the first switch first. I'd carefully recheck the wires, it sounds like the box is pretty full of wires.

Yea, sounds like you didn't pigtail off of the source, but off of the other side. Get a meter on what you think the source feed is to see if it's hot.

Thanks for the replies. You are right, I think that I pig tailed off a switch leg and not the hot leg. Thanks for the help. It makes sence now.
