wiring

have new 5hp 220 motor for aircompressor. the old motor is 220 with 3 wires white black ground. the new motor has five wires blue, black,red,yellow,brown i do not know what wires go with what wires any help would be grate.

There should be a wiring diagram on the motor.

If it doesn't have an instruction book with it info should be available from the manufacturer.

You shouldn't be wiring to the motor? The line should go to the pressure switch?

And since Malibu mentioned it, does your compressor have a pressure switch rated for 5HP or a starter?

There should be a nameplate on the side of the motor or the inside of the terminal cover with the connection details.
