Pretty good deal if you ask me for 5 different quality snips. I really didn't need this many but I figured I'd take advantage of the savings.

Wiss kinda ****. They may have kept production in the US, but they now cast their blades instead of forging them like they used to.

Midwest is alright though.

You can select the option at checkout. Oh, the Wiss ones I have are forged... we shall see if these are as well when I pick them up. The midwest tinner snips I know are forged but may need to be adjusted a little bit and oiled well.

Midwest snips are by far better than wiss.When I was doing commercial roofing I would wear a pair off wiss snips out in a week.Switched to Midwest and they lasted way longer.

I agree. I'm a roofing contractor and we have a sheet metal fab shop. I only use Midwest, and so do my guys.

Midwest snips are made by the Wright tool company
So are the Chanelock pliers and Ridgid pipe wrenches. They are all listed in thier new huge catalog. They just sent me a new one last week.
I picked up a set of SAE wrenches ( 5/15" 0 1 1/4") at the swap meet. they were brand new and in a nice roll. I paid $50 and the set. It is a $200 set. The edges of the open end are very sharp. If I had paid full price I would have sent them back. I have other Wright tools and like them. If you were waring out snips in the roofing business I would suggest going to a larger snips. The larger ones last forever. I have some 12 adn 14 inch ones that never die. I have some my grandfather had in his shop 80 years ago,.
They come up all the time in thrift stores and at the swap meets. I have so many of every size I quit buying them. I have had great luck with Wiss.

RCStocker - I believe you have it backwards - Channellock, Ridgid and Midwest rebrand their items for Wright, just as they do for other companies such as Sears as an example.

Deal is dead. With Sears, you sometimes have to jump on it that day or even that hour to get the deal.

Well... 3 out of 4 of those that I listed are dead - BUT the 10" version is even cheaper now at $11.96 (with free shipping to store when selecting store pickup on the shipping page AFTER proceeding to check out)
