Picked up the grinder today. It is in better shape than I thought it would be. Still has the original Wissota wheels. The Dayton motor that came with it will get saved for a different project. I have a 1/2hp 6.4 amp Craftsman motor. That I will use for this project. It will be my blade sharpening grinder. The reversing motor will be nice for this. When I use theses laminated paper wheels. I sharpen some blades spinning towards me. And other blades with the wheels spinning away from me.
I can’t find anything on the net about this particular model. If anyone has an idea on the age of it. I would like to know.

Now I have to build a stand that incorporates the motor. Under the grinder.

"Wissota Skate Sharpeners (previously Wissota Manufacturing) was incorporated in 1946, and we were making skate sharpeners before our competitors even existed! There is a Wissota Skate Sharpener in the museum collection of the Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul, and in the U.S Hockey Hall of Fame Museum (pictured to the right). Since 1946, we have built industrial skate sharpeners, bench grinders, precision electric motors, and grinding wheels. Wissota made all of the industrial bench grinders for Milwaukee, Electric Tool, Snap-On-Tools, Rockwell International (Delta), Wilton, Sioux Tools, and Bosch." - Wissota website

Please don't quote me on this but the closest I have seen is On Vtg.Machinery.org and they dated theirs in the 60s-70s also a Series A

If there's clearance, I'd install a larger diameter pulley on the arbor shaft, and use a notched "powerflex" belt. Those small pulleys don't run as smooth with the belt stressing to stay in contact.

Multi-V alternator pulleys would be the quietest option and transfer the most power.
