Yesterday i talked to my mac dealer on to prices for two Macsimizer boxes one being the MB1900 and the other being MB1880. For those who don't know the MB1900 is 88-1/4" long 46-3/8"high and 27'deep and the MB1880 is 78-7/8" long 43-1/4" high and 25-1/4" deep. I want a box this size because i like have a good size work surface, also so a don't have to add a side cabinet to a smaller box later making it longer than these. In my shop we have to move our boxes around to bay to bay. I don't think the length will be that much of a issue cause my bothers Matco is around 76" long and works fine. I like the MB1900 a bit better for the little more height and storage room and bigger work surface. I was wondering on your guys thoughts and how you like your box if you have one of these too.

Thanks

I have the MB1900 in forest green. With a 4" top drawer with a 2" under neath. I LOVE THIS BOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you build a house you start with the foundation, so the same principle should apply. Your box should outlast you.

not to make your local guy mad. but when your ready watch ebay . there is smokin deals on boxes if you arnt dead set on brand new and can pay it in 1 shot.

i started with a small hand tool box years ago. then worked up to a good size used craftsman unit. then i got a nice trade in snap-on off the truck. 6 months later i got a brand new box i spec built out of the options thay had.

what i can tell you is deep boxes are your friend. like 21" deep box ver 29" deep box. those few extra inchs will make a ton of diffrence in storage psace. and also look and do some reserch on the model you think you want. mabye someday you will want to add a topbox or side locker. well the deal might be on a old style that thay are phasing out and later you will not be able to get matching extras unless used.

and also fancy colors are great if thats your thing. but dont forget thay can be a pain in the a$$ to get matching stuff for later as thay are mostly limited run stuff. guy on here has gone threw hell trying to get some paint to match his box and he even has the ppg paint code.

if you have a good shop in town go look at those boxes the guys have and ask there likes and dislikes. the info will suprise you. and ask if you can open and close a few drawers . the full roller bearing drawer slides are a world apart from just friction slides.

hope my info helps you . this from a 10+ year mechanic. :)

glad i could help.

oh and as for movin the box around that dont happen much . she tips the scales at around 5k lbs give or take a little. empty the combo is around 2k lbs. thats werethe work cart comes in handy.

and just to show you what good planning and thinking will do before you buy. my old shop forman who has been in the buissness 30+ years said when i had it all put together if he was 30years yunger and was buyin a box that is 1 sick combo he would buy it just like that.

the workcenter is great. the box is setup good. love the 2 6ft drawers thats why i got the 1033. and the full locker plus the locker docker with the service cart inside. end of a bussy day you dont have to put anything away. just shut the workcenter and lock and roll the cart in and lock. :bounce:
