I apologize right off because I don't post pictures. I picked up a pair of pliers at an estate sale. Paid a dollar for them. They are Witherby 1507 linesman pliers also have england stamped on them. I am guessing they are from England? They seem to be decent pliers. They cleaned up nicely, The cutters show no light when held up to the light. I have never heard of this brand I can't find any history on the company that made. Does anyone know anything about them or the company that made them American? British?

Are you sure they are not Wilkinson ? I have a pair of Wilkinson side cutters. I have had them long enough to consider them vintage. Witherby wood chisels are considered some of the best made American chisels

I am sure they are not Wilkinson. At first I thought Weatherby like the gun maker. I think it is possible that they are related to the Conneticut Witherby manufacture but what about the england that is also on the pliers. These are definately linesman pliers and while I think it is possible that a woodworking tool co. would make these I think it unlikely. I have found examples of these pliers on Ebay both in the USA and England. There is no information other than pictures of the pliers nothing about manufacture or history. Perhaps we can get some input from some of our English members?
