I'm going to purchase some Witte screwdrivers but having a hard time deciding between the Maxxpro and Maxxpro Plus versions. The only difference seems to be the added slip-resistant micro fiber material on the Plus.

The Plus version are about $3 per screwdriver more. For those with the Plus version, does it make that much difference?

Are you going to use them in an automotive environment where they will be exposed to grease, grime, & chemicals?

The anti slip flocking is nice but, it never comes clean in an automotive environment.

I'm not a pro... just a DIY'er. I will use them for DIY automotive and when working on tractors and farm equipment so they will be exposed to grease and oil.

I have Klein's for electrical work so I don't really care if they get dirty. They'll be replacing my old Craftsman from the 80's that have got beat up.

If the anti slip we're talking about are the ones that feel like they have a bit of sand paper (I have some witte nut drivers with it), they're terrible and as said, will never get clean. Feels cheap anyways like it'll peel off.

I was just looking at Witte screwdrivers yesterday and noticed that Amazon.de had the sets for a reasonable price

What is terrible about them? Just the fact that they don't clean up?

Repeating what I said in my other post, the sandpaper feels cheap, and like its just stuck on and will peel off. I think the handle shape provides more grip in this instance than a small bit of added stick on sand paper.

I probably would have gotten rid of them if I ever actually used nut drivers for anything, for something without the sandpaper.

Heres some up close pics of mine.

Go for the MaxxPro "Nature" with the cork inserts instead of felt. They are the most comfortable screwdrivers I've ever used and you still get a lot of the traction of their Plus counterparts.

I feel the opposite about mine, though I did worry about all that was mentioned above when I first got them. Mine have held up fine the past 2 years and I really like the grip and feel of them.

I have been using the Mazzpro plus for many years and I prefer them to any other that I own or have used. Keeping them clean for me has never been an issue. The fuzzy coating shows very little sign of breaking down and they have been in continuous use for close to 10 years.

mine are the first & second generation Matco versions. I have never had the anti slip flocking peel off despite many encounters with brake clean and more cycles through a cuda (hot water parts washer) than i can remember. I have worn the flocking off in a couple of spots on my long p#2 but, i think they're like 15 years old :dunno: so, i am by no means complaining.
i do prefer the first gen screwdrivers though because the handles aren't as squat as the later generation. witte screwdrivers will serve you well
