What are some good wobble extensions (in all drives) that can be bought? (Tool truck isn't an opt). Don't want something that will break either.

Whoa......
All sizes can be bought.
All break.

That out of the way, I have been very happy with my Snap On NON wobble plus. Buy some good regular extensions, then some good wobble and you are set. Let your wallet guide you here in GJ land.....

I have the 1/2 Sunex wobble extensions. I like them, but I'm also not a pro. For a diy'er, they are great.

I know they can't be bought in all sizes. I'm sure sure others break alot easier then others. I have regular extensions already. Just looking for wobble.

I have SO, Cman, Kobalt, and Pittsburgh (HF) Wobble extensions covering pretty much every drive size & length out there. As others have said, they will break. I consider these a consumable item like impact sockets. After considerable use, they will always wear out and break. The reason for this is the very thing that allows the socket to wobble: the tapered square drive. This creates an obvious weak point that will eventually fail from torque related stress.

That being said, i'd go for HF, Kobalt, or Husky if you can deal with them being made in china or taiwan. SK if you prefer USA (like I do).

Tekton seems to have a full set I saw. But if SK or the like will last longer I rather get them.

Anyone know if the tekton are china or taiwan made?

I have beaten the living piss out of my Husky tools. Aside from truck brands thats who I recommend now

I've had Husky ratchet wrenches since I was 18. I'm 29 now. Never returned a single one. They're now my beater wrenches at work, but still kickin! I also have 2 or 3 Husky socket sets that serve their purpose perfectly. The ratchets ****. The sockets don't fit great, but when you're broke down or in a pinch, you make them work...

Wobble extensions and nobody's mentioned Koken?!

Highest quality wobble-fix extensions you can buy, IMO. Can be had in 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 drive. Made in Japan.

Ratcheting wrenches are kinda funny like that, I have some wal-mart ones in my box at work that I've been wanting to replace forever, but they just won't die and I can't justify replacing them while they still work just fine haha.

i believe I read on toolguyd awhile back that Tekton has started making USA products, but most of their fare is still asian COO.

SK is pretty good in 3/8 drive but, I've snapped the wobble drive off of most of my 1/4 drive set so, I can't recommend them.

Before purchasing them you need to decide if you want regular wobble or the wobble plus style. The wobble plus style looks like the Koken extensions shown in post #12 of this thread. If you push the socket on a ways they will wobble, but if you push further it will lock the socket in like a regular extension. I only like and use regular wobbles. If I add a wobble it's because I need it there, so the last thing I want is for it to bump something and push in further to become a regular extension when I am in the middle of feeding a ratchet, extension, socket contraption into a tight area. With 1/4 drive stuff I am also regularly needing to add some downward pressure to what I am cranking on when using things like bit sockets, etc. You can't do that with wobble plus without locking up the wobble feature.

I may be the only one here who likes wobble plus. The key is to use it for what it's good for. When you have a situation where you need wobble and you are attaching the socket to the bolt using the extension, which for me is not everyday, I use a lock wobble. Wobble plus are general purpose tools. When you are not sure what you need, grab the wobble plus.

The thing you have to keep in mind is that under 6", maybe under 4" in 1/4 drive, just about any brand of extension is ok. You need premium extensions when you get into the long extensions. The cheapies twist like springs.

I think extensions are luxury tools. You can get by with 3", 6", and 9". But having a wider range of lengths, I have a 24", and a range of styles, wobble, fixed, lockers, really makes wrenching more enjoyable. They let you be in the position you want to be in. The extensions do the stooping, bending, and reaching for you.

I bought 3 sets of "Performance Tool" ones on closeout at orileys a few years ago, and use them with my M18 little impact a lot. I don't think Ive broken any of that lot, but if I did, I have spares, and they'd give me a new one.
I have a Snap On one as well, it has a little nicer retaining ball.

For anyone viewing this thread in Australia, SP make good wobble sets in all sizes. Use them all the time with no problems, and well priced with a life time warranty.

I've got SO Wobble Plus for my 1/4" stuff and their regular extensions for 3/8" stuff.

The Koken posted earlier looks pretty nice.

I bought a Powerbuilt 10" wobble extension from Amazon.
After using a couple of times, the spring behind the ball detent seemed to have gone missing, leaving the ball to move about uselessly in the hole.
Amazon won't replace it. So now it's a worthless piece of shiny metal.

It's not worthless. Now it's a punch. I have a cheap 3/8 extension that I found that was missing the ball and spring. It's in the drawer with my punches.

Been using Gearwrench in 1/4" & 3/8" for a few years now. Broke the 3" once when I was still at Kenworth. Replaced under warranty and no issues since.

are the sockets easier pushed in towards the square part so they are locked straight? thats the fear i have with the plus ones.

No, it takes a pretty good "click" to engage it. I'm sure it could be knocked into that position with a ton of pressure on the extension.

These only come out occasionally, but they are useful.

Here are the high-quality image versions from post #12

My 1/4 drive, 12" long wobble-fix has gotten a lot of use, with chrome chipping to show its wear.

I bought a couple of brand new industrial black oxide finish Snapon wobble extensions at a swap meet for not much money.

I like them.

I'm biased but TOPTUL makes very nice wobble extensions that are made exactly like the Koken wobbles pictured above. You can use them as a normal extension with the socket held firmly in the fully attached position (indistinguishable in this case from a normal extension) or use them as a wobble if you back the socket off a bit.
