Wobble plus extension hate?

I've been doing some looking around at low cost alternatives for Snap-on "wobble plus" style extensions (for a second tool set), and got the idea that these get a pretty bad rap from some folks?

This just came as a bit of a surprise to me, because I almost always grab my wobble plus before standard wobble or straight extensions.

I find when I grab a straight extension, I almost always end up needing a wobble, and vice versa. I get that the wobble plus don't have as much tilt as a plain wobble, but I can't imagine that it's enough difference that it really hurts things.

I also feel way more comfortable using the wobble plus as my go-to, as they appear to be much stronger than plain wobble extensions.

I totally get "to each his own", so I'm not trying to start anything here, but my mind is boggled as to how an extension set that gets 90% of my use in a professional environment could be called a "gimmick" or "worthless".

The Koken Wobble fix extensions are a nice cheaper alternative to the Snap-On wobble plus. The knurling is on the female end of the extension which is perfectly placed when you need to turn the extension by hand.

My Snap on sockets fit perfectly with just enough friction to position them wherever I want on my Tone extention...but the same sockets on my Koken, well...they wobble like a **** in a gum boot. I would agree with the above poster about the knurling on the Koken, well positioned.

Gearwrench makes them if you want a cheaper alternative.

I have wobble plus extensions and find that like most multipurpose tools, when you combine features you end up with a compromise. I don't think a wobble plus works as good as the two types of extensions it's designed to replace but, that's just me. Finesse is also needed when using the wobble plus, too much pressure and it locks straight. It's the age old story, it wobbles when you want straight, and locks straight when you want to wobble.
It also depends on the detents on the socket you're using with the wobble plus type extension as to how well the whole set up works.
