Hey guys,

I'm just trying to plan out my application times and was wondering how long each coat takes to cure.

The instructions say:
- Primer (bond tite) 3-6 hours
- Body (liqua tile) 12-24 hours
- Clear (bond tite) no info

But the I saw in another thread that someone had to wait 12 hours between primer and body coat.

Temps will be in the 60's and reasonable humidity.

The issue is we're moving in to our new house on Saturday so the plan was to do the primer tonight, body late/late evening or tomorrow morning and clear the evening after.

If we don't get it all done before the move, could we move stuff onto the liqua tile then clear it in two halfs? Anything wrong with putting stuff on the Liqua tile during the move then doing the clear after?

Thanks all!

If your planning to do one coat each night you'll be fine. My primer coat this past weekend took about 14hrs until it wouldn't leave sock prints. It felt hard in 8 hours but would leave footmarks. The liquatile I did Sunday night, finishing about midnight. At 6am it was still tacky, when I got home from work at 5pm it was hard. The clear I finished at 10pm Monday night and it was good by morning. I might have gone a little heavy on the primer coat which is why I suspect it took a little while. It's also really clear and clean so even when cured you'll see fingerprints when you touch it. Make sure you leave 2-3 days after your done for everything to really harden up before putting stuff on it. I was walking on mine last night but I'm not going to move anything until Friday.

You could feasibly put stuff on the liqutile before clear coating but I wouldn't. are you doing flakes? Don't forget your going to need to scrape and vacuum them up before clear coating. Fred said to keep the recoat under 24hrs and with what this system costs do you really want to take chances? Do it right or wait.

You can recoat as soon as the previous coating is tack free, that being when you can walk on the coating without leaving an impression. Usually that within 3 - 6 hours of application. However certain conditions can cause that period to be as long as 24 hours. High humidity will definitely increase the time, as will lower temperatures. And the concrete mixture can also impact the cure time.

Ideally you want to recoat as soon as possible, that is within 24 hours of the previous application.

With ideal temperature and humidity, tack should be gone and surface ready for light foot traffic in 12-16 hours. For normal foot traffic, allow material to dry 24-48 hours. Allow at least 72 hours dry time before parking on the surface. For a full cure, and before rolling heavy machinery across surface, wait 7 days.
