Wolverine Unresponsive

I have tried on 3 occasions to contact Wolverine's respresentatives on this and other boards with no response. My questions were straight forward:

1. Does Wolverine have a product which would provide a good clearcoat sealer over Armstrong Imperial Texture VCT?

2. Does Wolverine expect there would be any significant yellowing over white tile?

3. Does Wolverine have a Canadian sales outlet or if not, do they ship direct to Canada?

Anyone know how to get Wolverine to come out of hibernation?

We were out of the office for an extended period, and some of our emails weren't being forwarded (bad filter set up), sorry for the slow response. Plus it just took some time to catch up...

Yes, we do have VCT coating material.

First the vct should be prepped, even if new. A good stripper with a low speed buffer works best. Then clean the floor real well.

Next apply Bondtite 1107, which is formulated just for VCT application. It's a clear, 2 part, 100% solids epoxy. Being an epoxy it will yellow over time. How much is tough to say, in some applications it's barely noticeable.

You can stop there, or continue and add a clear coat of EnduraShield 2254. The EnduraShield will help reduce yellowing, it's also harder, has a higher sheen, and more durable.

We do ship to Canada.

Make sure you check for moisture before you apply any coating. Epoxies only resist 3lbs and if higher is present, your vct will prematurely delaminate and you'll have a huge mess on your hands.

I can't speak for Wolverine products, never used them.

Generally though, most epoxy systems, according to most epoxy tech data sheets, can only resist or only recommended to be applied on surfaces with up to 3lbs per 1000 sqft per 24hrs.

When in doubt, get your answers from the product maker or distributor of the product you intend to use themselves.

As far as coating vct......It's like putting a Lamborghini kit on a Fiero

If you have existing VCT and there's some hydrostatic pressure, you can still seal the floor by using a product like AcryliSeal, which is semi-permeable to water vapor.

Test for hydrostatic pressure by taping down a sheet of 4' x 4' plastic for 2 or 3 days. If you notice moisture under the plastic, or the concrete has darkened due to moisture, then the floor has vapor issues.

Many coatings can deal with a certain amount of moisture - so at that point the question becomes "how much moisture is there?" The best way to measure that is with a "calcium chloride" test kit. The kits aren't too expensive, and easy to use, but they do require a scale accurate to 0.1 gram.

Hmmm.. bit concerned here. We've checked our in boxes and have responded to everything we can find. If you have recently emailed us, but haven't heard back, could you resend the message - either we never received it, or misfiled it, please accept our apologies.

Plus, if you do refer to any private messages from here, or your posts here, include your screen name so we can get on the same page.

I have found Fred to be very responsive. I had all sorts of questions for Fred and he answered every one of them and then had some suggestions on top of that. By both email and telephone, Fred helped make my decision. I'm coating a 2,000 sq ft garage floor this month. I feel a lot more confident now then before all my questions were answered.
