They're ok but you gotta run a quality cord with soft, flexible casing like Yellowjacket. Cheap cords, forget it.

We used them at my last job on robot pendant cables. They sort of work, don't really hold up to an industrial environment very well. For the home shop I'd really rather just have a hook set up high on the wall. Throw down 3 loops and you can get to most anyplace in my shop.

Thanks. Looking forward to the review. I wasnt going to try it at 30.00 but 20.00 I figured I would give it a shot.

I've got one. It is OK for occasional use. I got it to use an electric edger on my property once every couple of weeks. Any more often than that and I'd probably have knocked it off the wall with a sledgehammer and stomped on it.

Just received the Wonder Winder today and have to say it performs as it should. Only weak part that I really notice is the lever that pushed the cord against the reel. It flexs but time will tell.

Here is a video of me Rolling and Extending 12/3 SJTW Extension cord. Did it 3 times to show that it wasn't a fluke.

Thanks Regnar for showing how it works. I like that you did not baby it . It looks like it might hold up good. I may pick one up. Thanks

Just put a 6 inch length of rod into a stud or in a brace across two studs that is angled up at 45 degrees. Simply over-hand loop your extension cords and hang on rod. There is nothing simpler or more useful except retractable cords where that is needed.

Yep did that for years. This will be replacing it. Much quicker and less tangles. After testing it out even more I attached another 50 ft of 12/3 SJTW (100 ft total) and it wound it up nicely until the last 10 feet because the basket was full and not allowing the cord to wrap around. I did get it all in just required more work with the winding wheel.

Ive been using one for about 6 or 8 years frequently. It will hold up.....even if it flexes a bit.

......but if it gets cold out and the cord gets stiff.....problems. Cord gets wet.....problems.

This. I also have 100' of #12 in mine which I'm pretty sure is more than the instructions rate it for. I can usually get all but the last 6' in, which I just drape over the Winder and at least it's off the floor. Still, not something I use frequently, and 100' of #12 seems a bit heavy for it although honestly my "tek" screws (tapered self drilling for THIN sheetmetal) are more likely to tear out of my interior sheeting before the Winder itself fails.
