Wood Fence Stain

does anybody know much about wood fence stain i just built a new privacy fence tks to hurricane wilma last year and it almost a yr old this year .so i am getting to stain it this winter(yes we can do that in south florida in the winter)but don't know much about stains..let me hear some input........

The union painters here always use Olympia high solids stain on thier stuff. They say it's the best.

I've had very good luck with CABOT stains. Consumer Reports life testing show it to be one of the best.

You'll also want to think about the type of stain. If you go with a solid color stain the wood looks like it was painted. If you want to see thw wood grain you may want to go with a clear or tinted sealer.

Just something else for you to think about.

I have also heard good things about the Cabot line. When I was getting ready to do my deck I was told to stay away from the big box stores. Go to your local paint store. They usually know more and can answer your questions.

A second for Olympia used it on our fence and it lasted around 7 years, just recoated this summer.
