Wood insert older than 1995, intallers wont touch it it

Have an older pre-1995 Lopi wood insert. Called several installers and they will not install it because it is pre-1995.

What gives?

Just a guess, but I think that’s when the epa Regs took over... go to hearth.com, it’s like this place but for fireplace stuff
