Wood laminate floor restore

Hi folks,

Just wondering if anyone had tips for restoring a wood laminate floor that's been worn down by chairs. On thew whole the floor isn't too bad, just this area of heavy wear around the table.

Can I restore just this area, or is this a job that would need the whole floor sanded and refinished?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

that looks like solid hardwood, not engineered or laminate .
you need to refinish the entire thing, spot repairs would be very noticeable

That's what I feared - which would be sanding and re-varnishing the whole thing?

yes, and it appears it was stained too.
