So for some reason I have got it in my mind that i want to try to make some duck calls. I have never used a wood lathe so know little about it (used a metal lathe lots). I would appreciate some info on what size lathe chisels I should have. My plan is just to buy a mini lathe (likely the Craftex from busy bee in the link below. I was at Canadian tire last night and saw a set of lathe chisels $99.99 on clearance for $49.99 so i grabbed them (link below). Once I got home I started thinking about the size of them. These chisels are 17" long. Is this going to be anything close to what I want to use or are these going to be too big for what I am doing?
