OK I have a metal man door in my shop that has fake panels in it.

I want it to be flat on the inside. I have a sheet of Lauan that I want to attach. Liquid Nails seems like the best way, but I'm not sure I want it to be that permanent.

Screws? What kind and how big?

Thanks for all the input.

Just replace the door w/ a flat metal door.

Sheet metal with pop rivets

Bob

I already have the door and the plywood. I am cheap.

Or... Wood with pop rivets.. I've done exactly this and it worked like a charm. No pics because the guy that owns the house now might not understand why I want to take pics in his house...:dunno:

Interesting - I'm not sure if the door is hollow or metal wrapped wood. I'll have to investigate. Here's a hint to what I'm doing: Your sig is very close to my inspiration. When I get a little further along, I'll PM you to check out the new thread . . . In the meantime, I'd stay outta the other guy's house

If it's a 6 panel metal door and a standard homeowner type door, more than likely it's a wood frame wrapped with metal. Take a look at the side of the door, especially where the knob/lock is.

I would screw the plywood on to make it easier for removal, if that time it ever came.

NUTTSGT is correct.

More importantly, I was wrong. I used the Lauan on another project and forgot. :lol_hitti

I just finished painting the door - panels and all. I am cheap.
