I am building cube shelves out of 1X12 across the back wall of my garage for storage. 12 inches deep obviously and about 18 inches tall.

I will be anchoring using 1X2 glued and screwed to the top board and underneath the bottom board to attach it to the wall. The shelving will span 6 studs.

My question, Will this be sturdy enough to support tools and a about 5 1 gallon jugs of car cleaning products along with miscellaneous spray cans and lawn treatment products.

In other words, without additional support, how much weight would this be able to hold using approximately 5 to 6 studs as the mounting points about 18 inches in height and 16 inches in width apart?

Thanks!

I would put some type of shelving bracket in a few spots under the bottom, and maybe some type of L-brackets along the top to keep it in place.

Agree with above I would definitely support the front of shelving somehow. Some options:

Hang them on adjustable shelf brackets mounted to studs
Cap ends with side panels like a book shelf
L brackets
Run threaded rod and/or cable through front of shelve from ceiling

What are boards made out of, pine?

Do a dollar check against some craigs list lockers.
Don't forget to factor in what you get back when you remove the doors for scrap .
