Now that my barn / shop is built I need to start organizing. The first step is to get the wood off the floor. Since the construction is 6x6" post & beam with 2x6 bookshelf girts, I have to come up with a different method to mount brackets for 8 foot long wood than I use for my stick built garage. I tried the Search function, but no luck.

Does anyone haver any suggestions? Thanks, Hugh

Lag a 2x6 vertically across your bookshelf girts st whatever interval you need. I would do 24" OC.

Then lag your brackets onto that.

What type of wood are you storing ? construction 2x lumber or 3/4" boards to build stuff out of. Personally, I would store these types of lumber in different ways.

I used pallet racking with five foot frames. (44” is the common size)

Most of what I want store are 2x and 1x material of various lengths. Thanks very much for the suggestions. I'm going to consider all of these options.
